Equipment

Equipment for shellfish farming.

All of the equipment we sell is used on our own farms — lantern nets, land-based nurseries, floating upwellers and FLUPSY kits. There's no minimum purchase; contact us through the form below about orders and shipping.

Lantern Nets

Custom lantern nets

Lantern nets can be ideal for growing bay scallops or sea scallops, and great for oysters as well. Ours come in 5- or 10-level versions, for nursery (6 mm mesh) or growout (12 mm nylon bottom, 21 mm monofilament sides) — and we can make custom sizes with more or fewer levels, different materials, or colors.

5 Level lantern nets: $45 each

10 Level lantern nets: $55 each

Land-Based Nursery Systems

Nurseries for oysters, clams or scallops.

Often it's easiest to grow seed shellfish in land-based systems — easier to maintain, clean and grade from, with no reaching beneath your feet like in a floating system. We offer tanks, silos, bottom mesh from 35 µm through 5 mm, and all the pipes and pumps you need to get up and running.

We also provide engineering consulting to build out the system, platforms for ease of use, and permitting assistance in whichever US state you are farming.

Floating Scallop Upweller

A nursery system designed for scallops

Scallops swim — so they can't be raised in nursery systems designed for oysters or clams. We've spent over a decade designing and optimizing a floating nursery system that mimics the principles of an oyster upweller, tailored specifically to scallops. Buy a complete system, or a kit you finish constructing at your site.

FLUPSYs for Oysters or Clams

Floating upwellers for oysters and clams

Producing seed oysters or clams — quahogs, soft shells, surf clams — requires a nursery system, and nothing produces greater volume than a floating in-water upweller. Ours are customized for high flow with no pump cavitation (800–900 gpm), lifting points so there's no backbreaking lifting, and decades of long-term performance.

We sell kits — hardware, silos, trough, piping and pump, with frame plans included — or completely built systems, picked up or delivered to your site.
