Bay scallop, eastern oyster and hard clam seed for growers, towns and restoration projects. Fill out the form below, or email the hatchery at dan@scallopbayshellfish.com to ask about availability or place an order.
- ›We recommend stocking your shellfish in gear at least one mesh size smaller than the size you are purchasing for optimal yield.
- ›To confirm all seed orders, a 25% deposit is required.
- ›All orders are filled on a first come, first served basis. Minimum order 25,000 of any species.
- ›All prices for pickup at the SBSC hatchery in Pocasset, MA. Shipping of small seed, or delivery of larger seed is available upon request. Seed delivery available throughout the US East Coast. Price varies depending on species, quantity and distance — please email the hatchery for details.
Bay Scallops
SBSC bay scallop broodstock are selected annually for growth, meat yield and coloration from many generations of production on our farms. Native stock is regularly introduced from native Cape Cod bay scallop populations.

Eastern Oysters
SBSC oyster broodstock has been selected from disease-resistant lines developed over decades to have increased protection from Dermo, MSX and SSO. The oysters are then crossed with Massachusetts aquaculture-raised stock, and the seed is ideal for mid to high salinity (>20 ppt).

Hard Clams
SBSC hard clam broodstock are native Cape Cod quahogs, selected from Falmouth wild stock. These animals are tested to be free from all disease prior to shipment, and broodstock are selected for fast growth, hard shell and high meat yield.
